Band community,
I have decided to move the weekly Notes From the President here. I am able to have a little more freedom in my editing and you will not have to search a million emails for the latest update.
So, How to classify last week? The Band volunteering operation was pushed and with a bit of grit and hard work, we fortified the Friday Night Operations and with a minor truck hiccup, we successfully navigated moved through a Competition Saturday. I call this past week an amazing success!!! I appreciate all who stepped up and chaperoned, wrangled, prepared and fed students, cleaned up after, donated food, drove to the competition, organized, directed, or remained available and vigilant. From the students to the Band directors to all of us parents supporting, we did a great job.
Also, if you have not heard, our band did very well in the competition. Congratulate your student and make sure they know how proud we are of what they accomplished this weekend. Their success and achievement is why we do this. The competition was a validation that we are doing something right. It is amazing how much the students have grown. A big shout out to the Tonya and her staff. Great work.
Before I get to the agenda, I would like to propose a new initiative. I will be holding a Tuesday weekly zoom meeting called Open Talk with the Band Booster President for anyone with questions. Any of the band members or parents can call in or join a zoom meeting to talk about any topics that may need to be addressed. If I need help from one of the other board members, I can reach out to them. This will start on Oct 12, 2021 @ 8:00 PM. Join Zoom meeting here
My desire is to have another avenue for parents to contact me if they want.

Senior night- Tamara Ellis is working with a team to start gathering pictures and information for the Senior night recognition event on 10/15.
