The Lambert Wind Bands are regulary schedule year-long courses that receive 1 unit of Fine Arts credit towards graduation. The class is also used to satisfy three of the four required elective units that count towards graduation. Please see the student handbook for more information on graduation requirements.

The Concert Band is an outcome-based course with performance, homework and classroom requirements. The Concert Band performs music in the difficulty range as specified in the Georgia Music Educators Association handbook as level III (three) and IV (four). The purpose of the Concert Band is to develop individual and ensemble performance skills. Further purposes shall be to increase musical knowledge and appreciation through performance of required pass- off materials, participation in public performances, and / or Georgia Music Educators Association approved festivals and competitions. Admission is by teacher approval for previously enrolled band students. Enrollment is based on ability level and, just as important, balanced instrumentation of the ensemble. Transfer students will be required to audition. Students should make satisfactory progress and grades to achieve continued placement in the Intermediate Band. The Symphonic Band carries the same course description as the Concert Band with the exception of the difficulty of the music. The Symphonic Band performs music in the difficulty range as specified in the Georgia Music Educators Association handbook as level IV (four) and V (five).

The Mastery Bands (i.e., Wind Ensemble & Wind Symphony) carries the same course description as the Symphonic Band with the exception of the difficulty of the music. The Wind Ensemble performs music in the difficulty range as specified in the Georgia Music Educators Association handbook as level V (five) and VI (six). These classes will take place during the lunch periods and students will be interchangeable in classes depending on the ensembles and items being worked on each day. Students can be moved between the Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony based on skill sets demonstrated, grades on various pass-offs, and work ethic.
